Google Expands AI Flight Deals Tool Globally with New Booking Features

Key Takeaways

  • Google’s AI-powered Flight Deals tool now available globally across 200+ countries
  • New Canvas feature creates complete travel itineraries with real-time data
  • AI Mode can now book reservations and appointments for US users
  • Direct flight and hotel booking through conversational interface coming soon

Google has expanded its AI-powered Flight Deals tool worldwide, making it easier for travelers to find affordable destinations using natural language queries. The global rollout covers over 200 countries and territories with support for 60+ languages, bringing the feature to major markets including the UK, France, Germany, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, and Korea.

The tool uses generative AI to suggest low-cost travel destinations based on users’ preferred timing, location, and travel style. Travelers simply describe their travel preferences, and the system generates the best available fare options from Google Flights.

New AI Travel Planning Features

Google is also enhancing its experimental AI Mode in Search with new travel capabilities. US users enrolled in Labs can now use the “Canvas” workspace to build complete travel itineraries. Originally designed for study planning, Canvas now assembles real-time data on flights, hotels, restaurants, and activities from Search, Google Maps, and other web sources into structured trip plans.

Selecting “Create with Canvas” generates automatic itineraries featuring hotel comparisons, Maps reviews and photos, and activity suggestions optimized by travel time. Users can refine results through follow-up questions, such as comparing proximity to restaurants versus hiking trails.

Expanded Booking Capabilities

Google has expanded AI Mode’s “agentic” capabilities to all US users, allowing the system to complete tasks automatically. Previously limited to Labs participants, the tool can now book restaurant reservations, event tickets, and beauty and wellness appointments. Users specify details like date, time, party size, cuisine, and location, and AI Mode scans multiple reservation platforms to find available options.

Looking ahead, Google plans to enable direct booking of flights and hotels through AI Mode. Users will eventually describe their preferences and compare schedules, prices, room photos, amenities, and reviews within a single conversational interface.
