Dreame expands retail footprint in India, says it wants to offer one-on-one customer service

Dreame Technology entered the Indian market in 2023, and since then the brand has managed to carve out a space for itself in the robot vacuum and grooming segments. Over the years, the brand has mainly sold its products through third-party platforms like Amazon and Croma. Now, as Dreame looks to expand in the country, it is launching its own direct-to-consumer (D2C) website. The company says the platform is aimed at offering customers a more personal, one-to-one experience.

The new India-specific website is now live at in.dreametech.com. According to Dreame, while it will continue to rely on Amazon and retail partners like Croma, the new platform aims to bring everything, from product discovery and purchase to after-sales support, into one seamless, more direct experience.

In a conversation with India Today Tech, Manu Sharma, Managing Director, Dreame India, said the new website is designed to create a more seamless, end-to-end customer journey. “Our website will offer strong product discovery, easy comparisons across models and features, and comprehensive support, including WhatsApp, email, and call centres. It also allows us to extend after-sales services, such as offering extended warranties directly to customers,” he said.

According to Sharma, with the platform now live, the goal is not just to drive sales but to take greater control of the overall customer experience. “We’re also building a strong support ecosystem — including WhatsApp support, email, and call centre access — so the experience goes beyond just buying the product and extends into after-sales service,” he added.

Another area Dreame is looking to improve is accessories. According to Sharma, while accessories may seem like a small part of the overall experience, it has often been a frustrating aspect for customers. With the new website, the company is aiming to simplify access for the accessories and make the buying process smoother.

“One key area we want to improve is the availability of accessories. By the end of the year, we aim to ensure that all accessories are always available on our website,” Sharma said. “We’ve seen cases where third-party accessories are sold at higher prices, and customers have raised concerns. Through our platform, we want to clearly guide consumers on which accessories are best suited for their products and ensure they can buy them easily at the right price.”

The launch of the dedicated website also ties into the brand’s bigger plans for India, which is fast emerging as one of its key markets. According to Sharma, “India has been a strong learning ground for us over the past couple of years. One key insight is that consumers increasingly prefer all-in-one products over standalone ones,” he noted. “Going forward, you’ll see more all-in-one products from us in the mid to premium price segments,” he told India Today Tech.

While strengthening its online presence, Dreame says it is not ignoring offline retail. In fact, it is doubling down on physical experiences for its customers.

“We are also expanding our offline presence and will soon introduce pre-sales home demos in key cities,” Sharma revealed. “We are currently present in over 20 cities across 50+ stores, and we plan to expand our offline footprint further.”

Dreame India website offering limited time offers

Meanwhile, as part of the website launch, Dreame is offering a 50 per cent discount on a one-year extended warranty for robotic vacuums. The offer will be valid from April 1 to April 10 for purchases made through its website.

The company has also set up a dedicated after-sales helpline and continues to offer services like pick-up and drop, as well as virtual and on-site installation.

With India emerging as a priority market, Dreame says it aims to focus on better customer experience, stronger service, and more direct engagement.
