BGMI gets new cricket league minigame: What it is and how it works

Krafton India has introduced a new cricket-themed minigame in Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). The timing of this new mini-game aligns with the T20 season. Called the BGMI Cricket League, the feature connects real-world cricket matches with in-game activities. This will allow players to engage with the sport through interactive gameplay.

The limited-time event will be available from March 27 and allow players to earn in-game rewards by participating in match-based challenges. The addition reflects BGMI’s approach of incorporating local themes into its content updates for Indian players.

The BGMI Cricket League allows players to select a team from ongoing cricket matches within the game.

If the chosen team wins in real life, players receive Support and Win Spin Tokens.

Players can then use these tokens in the Glacier Lucky Spin to get different in-game rewards, like the M416 Glacier weapon skin, which is back for a short time as part of the event.

BGMI players can take part in more than one match during the event. If you keep playing and make the right choices, you have a better chance of getting more tokens and unlocking rewards.

Krafton India has also produced short films about cricket to keep players interested throughout the season as part of the feature.

The company made it clear that the BGMI Cricket League is a free-to-play feature and doesn’t involve betting, making real-money predictions, or working with official cricket boards, leagues, or franchises.

Commenting on the new feature, Srinjoy Das, Director of Marketing and BGMI Product Management at Krafton India, said, “Cricket and BGMI – two things India absolutely loves, and now they’re in the same place. We wanted to give our players a reason to care about every match this season, not just watch it from the sidelines. Pick your team, back them, and win rewards – it’s that simple and that fun. There’s never been a more exciting time to be a BGMI fan.”
