Apple to Use Google’s AI Model for Siri Overhaul

Apple to Use Google’s AI for Major Siri Upgrade

Apple is reportedly finalising a deal to use Google’s powerful Gemini AI model to overhaul its Siri voice assistant, according to a Bloomberg News report.

Key Details of the AI Partnership

The agreement would see Apple paying Google approximately $1 billion annually for access to its advanced artificial intelligence technology. This move represents a significant strategic shift for Apple as it works to enhance Siri’s capabilities.

Google’s Gemini model features 1.2 trillion parameters, a key measure of AI complexity that substantially exceeds Apple’s current in-house systems. This massive scale is expected to dramatically improve Siri’s performance and functionality.

Strategic Implementation

Bloomberg’s report indicates Apple plans to use Google’s Gemini as an interim solution while the company continues developing its own proprietary AI systems. This stopgap approach allows Apple to quickly upgrade Siri’s capabilities without waiting for its internal technology to mature.

Both Apple and Alphabet (Google’s parent company) have not yet provided official comments to Reuters regarding these developments. The partnership, if confirmed, would mark one of the most significant AI collaborations in the tech industry.
