Apple launches iPad Air with M4 chip, price starts at Rs 64,900

Apple has launched the next-generation iPad Air with M4 chip in India. Available in a choice of 11- and 13-inch sizes, the M4 iPad Air starts at Rs 64,900 for Wi-Fi, while a model with 5G cellular will set you back by at least Rs 79,900. The iPad Air with M4 chip will go on sale starting March 11 with pre-orders going live from March 4 (starting 7:45 PM).

iPad Air M4 full specs and features

The biggest headlining feature of the 2026 iPad Air is the core chip. The new iPad Air is powered by the M4 chip and so, the biggest upgrade comes by way of faster performance. Apple says the new model with M4 boasting of an 8-core CPU and a 9-core GPU is up to 30 per cent faster than iPad Air with M3 and up to 2.3x faster than iPad Air with M1. You also get 50 per cent more unified system memory in this generation.

Apple has also updated the Wi-Fi and cellular chips. These are N1 and C1X respectively. Apple claims N1 brings “better performance when connected to 5GHz Wi-Fi networks and improves the overall performance and reliability of features like Personal Hotspot and AirDrop” while with C1X which you will find in the 5G model, it claims to offer “50 per cent faster cellular data performance — and for active cellular users, up to 30 per cent less modem energy usage than iPad Air with M3.”

The rest of the specifications and design are mostly do-overs from the previous generation.
