Anant Raj and Submer sign MoU at India AI Impact Summit 2026, will build sovereign cloud infrastructure

As the world talks of sovereign tech stack, it has become more and more important to have tech infrastructure that keeps a country’s data within borders. Or in other words, if data is the new oil, then home grown clouds can be the banks that will ensure our data currency stays home. It is with an aim to create a sovereign cloud service in India that Anant Raj Limited and Submer, the full-stack AI infrastructure provider, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the India AI Impact Summit 2026 to develop fully operational, AI-ready data centres across India.

The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday at the India AI Impact Summit 2026. The deal comes as New Delhi ramps up efforts to establish “sovereign AI” capabilities, ensuring that data processing and storage remain within national borders.

Under the agreement, Anant Raj will leverage Submer’s specialised liquid-cooling technology and its InferX “neocloud” platform to retrofit or build out facilities capable of handling the intense heat generated by AI-focused Graphics Processing Units (GPUs).

The initiative will initially focus on Anant Raj’s existing tech campuses in Manesar and Panchkula, Haryana. The company, which transitioned from traditional real estate into digital infrastructure, has set an ambitious target to reach 307 MW of data centre capacity by the 2032 fiscal year.

“Partnering with Submer and InferX to deliver sustainable AI data center and cloud services provides the solution to support our economic growth,” said Amit Sarin, Managing Director of Anant Raj Limited, noting the project aligns with federal “Digital India” and “Self-Reliant India” (Atmanirbhar Bharat) initiatives.

“India is at a pivotal moment in its digital transformation,” said Patrick Smets, CEO of Submer. “We bring high-performance AI compute online fast while significantly reducing environmental impact.”
