WWE SmackDown updates: All superstars confirmed for the show, major World title match, and more

The March 6 episode of WWE SmackDown will emanate from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. The show will present the fallout of WWE’s latest Premium Live Event, Elimination Chamber, which took place in Chicago, Illinois, last week. Apart from that, a major WWE World title match is scheduled for this week’s edition of SmackDown, which could alter the road to WrestleMania 42 in a huge way.

At the 2026 WWE Elimination Chamber PLE, Cody Rhodes came close to winning the Men’s Chamber match and punching his ticket to an Undisputed WWE title match at WrestleMania 42. However, the reigning champion and his arch-nemesis, Drew McIntyre, attacked him, which allowed Randy Orton to seal the victory.

Witnessing how McIntyre has been screwing Rhodes out of the title picture for months, GM Nick Aldis scheduled a title match between both top stars for this week’s edition of SmackDown. The winner of the match will head to WrestleMania to face Randy Orton for the Undisputed WWE title.

WWE SmackDown will see a lot of interesting developments take place this week on live television. Rhea Ripley is set to join the blue brand as their newest star. She won the 2026 Women’s Elimination Chamber match to challenge SmackDown’s WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill for her title at WrestleMania 42. The duo is set for a major face-off on the blue brand this week.

Apart from that, a No.1 contender’s match for the WWE Tag Team Championships has been announced; however, no participants have been revealed yet. Lastly, new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Lash Legend will celebrate their title win from last week and begin their reign in grand fashion on the blue show this week.
