Colorado Avalanche forward Artturi Lehkonen is set to be sidelined from the team after sustaining an injury in Monday’s game against the Los Angeles Kings. This was confirmed by the head coach of the Colorado Avalanche, Jared Bednar. Despite Lehkonen’s injury, the Avalanche managed to win the match by 4-2 over the Los Angeles Kings. Artturi Lehkonen was seen leaving the match after an upper-body injury and did not return.
As per reports, the forward played just three shifts on Monday, totaling 3:21, before sustaining the injury at Crypto.com Arena. In this season, the forward has scored 19 goals and 23 assists for 42 points, averaging just under 19 minutes per game.
Besides, following his injury, coach Jared Bednar also stated that forward Artturi Lehkonen will be out for the foreseeable future.

Colorado Avalanche forward Artturi Lehkonen exited Monday night’s road game against the Los Angeles Kings early after he sustained an unfortunate injury while playing the match. The team confirmed, following the game, that he will be sidelined for an unspecified period due to an upper-body injury. According to Guerilla Sports, Bednar stated, “I haven’t gotten the full report on him, but he’s going to be out and miss some time.”
Reports suggest that the 30-year-old played only 3:21 of ice time in the Avalanche’s 4-2 victory over the Kings before leaving the contest with the injury. As Daily Faceoff stated, it was not very clear how the Avalanche forward suffered the injury, but at one point during the first period, the player was seen going to the dressing room with a team trainer and did not return after that.
In 59 games this season, he has scored 19 goals and 23 assists for 42 points, averaging just under 19 minutes per game. In his entire career, Lehkonen has a total of 163 goals and 167 assists for 330 points in 649 regular-season games with the Avalanche and Montreal Canadiens. Besides, in 78 career playoff games, he has 26 goals and 21 assists for 47 points.
Last season, he scored a career-high 27 goals, while in 2022-23, he recorded a career-high 51 points, as per Daily Faceoff. As for his career achievements, he has helped Colorado win the Stanley Cup in 2022 and also participated in the Canadiens’ 2021 Cup Final run, where they lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning in five games.
