A gradual increase in cloud cover is expected across large parts of north and east India over the next 24 hours, though significant rainfall activity will remain limited in most regions, according to the latest weather inputs.
States including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh are likely to witness partly cloudy skies. Similar conditions are expected over Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal.
However, rainfall activity across these regions is expected to remain minimal, with no widespread precipitation forecast.
“In the northern hill states, from Jammu & Kashmir to Uttarakhand, weather conditions are also expected to remain largely dry. However, higher reaches of Uttarakhand may witness light, isolated rainfall in patchy zones,” Devendra Tripathi, founder of Mausam Tak, told IndiaToday.in.

Across the northwestern plains, including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, along with eastern states such as Bihar, Jharkhand and the Gangetic plains of West Bengal, only isolated and scattered light rain activity is likely.
In contrast, the northeastern region is expected to see more consistent rainfall. States such as Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are likely to receive fairly widespread precipitation over the next day.
Meanwhile, a combination of northerly cold winds and recent rainfall over Bihar is expected to trigger fog formation in parts of the region. Moderate to dense fog is likely at isolated locations in the Terai belt of Bihar, particularly from Champaran to Kishanganj.
Adjoining foothill regions of Uttar Pradesh, especially those bordering Nepal, may also experience foggy conditions during early morning hours.
Temperature trends indicate a rise in daytime temperatures across several parts of the country. Regions spanning Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, north India and parts of peninsular India are likely to see an increase of 2 to 5 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures.
However, the presence of cold northerly winds will keep mornings and nights relatively cool in many areas.
In southern India, dry weather is expected to prevail over Tamil Nadu and Telangana. However, isolated light rainfall may occur over coastal Andhra Pradesh, particularly along the north coast, as well as parts of south coastal Karnataka, south interior Karnataka and Kerala.
Overall, while cloud cover will increase across much of the country, significant rainfall activity will remain confined mainly to the northeastern states, with most other regions experiencing mild and stable weather conditions.
