Sony announces PlayStation Plus monthly games for October 2025: Alan Wake 2, Goat Simulator 3, and others available for free

Sony has announced PlayStation Plus monthly games for the month of October. Available from October 7, this month’s list of PlayStation games include Alan Wake 2, Goat Simulator 3 and Cocoon. All three are playable on Sony PS5 and PS4 till November 3. In addition to this, Sony announced that starting October 7 Midnight Murder Club will be available as a Game Trial for PlayStation Plus Premium members. Players can enjoy a limited-time free trial for one hour or can also purchase the full game. Also, PlayStation Plus members have until October 6 to add Psychonauts 2, Stardew Valley and Viewfinder to their game library

Alan Wake 2: Available on PS5

What begins as a small-town murder investigation quickly turns into a nightmare.

From the creators of Control, this psychological survival horror introduces two playable characters: returning hero Alan Wake and new protagonist Saga Anderson.

Players experience the story from two perspectives and two realities. As Wake, you must fight to escape the eerie Dark Place. As Anderson, you investigate the case while exploring the forests, lakes, and small towns of the Pacific Northwest.

Combat relies on more than weapons. Light is a vital tool, both as a weapon and as protection against supernatural enemies.

Limited resources and close-combat encounters add to the tension as you try to survive.

Goat Simulator 3: Available on PS4, PS5

Pilgor the goat is back, and this time she isn’t alone. Goat Simulator 3 delivers chaotic fun in a larger open-world sandbox where you can play solo or with up to three friends in online or local co-op.

Together, you can cause mayhem, compete in mini-games, and wreck everything in sight. Lick, headbutt, and destroy your way through a new map filled with absurd physics and endless opportunities for comedy.

Self-aware and silly as ever, the game promises “the biggest waste of your time since Goat Simulator.”

Cocoon: Available on PS4, PS5

From Jeppe Carlsen, the designer behind Limbo and Inside, comes Cocoon, a puzzle adventure built on a unique concept: each world exists inside an orb you can carry.

You’ll leap between worlds by using these orbs, combining and rearranging them to solve layered puzzles. Each orb has its own ability, such as revealing hidden paths or activating devices, which can then be used in other worlds.

Set in alien environments filled with ancient machinery and mysterious biomes, Cocoon challenges players to think differently while exploring beautifully crafted, interconnected worlds.
