Want a paid IIT internship? IIT Mandi invites applications till March 30

The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi has announced its Summer Internship Program 2026, offering a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on research experience.

Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 10,000 while working closely with IIT Mandi faculty on cutting-edge projects.

This initiative aims to provide students practical exposure beyond the classroom while strengthening their academic and professional profiles.

The internship is especially suitable for engineering, science, and humanities students who are eager to learn through real-world research. Interns will participate in laboratory work, explore new technologies, and contribute to ongoing projects across a variety of disciplines.

MONTHLY STIPEND AND DURATION

  • The internship will run for two months, commencing on May 25, 2026.
  • Selected students will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 10,000.
  • Upon completion, interns will be awarded a certificate, enhancing future study or employment opportunities.

WHO CAN APPLY

  • Undergraduate students: Pre-final year students enroled in engineering or technology programmes.
  • Postgraduate students: Students in the first year of any postgraduate course.
  • MOU requirement: Candidates must be from institutions that have an MOU with IIT Mandi.

RESEARCH AREAS

Interns at IIT Mandi will work on projects in diverse subjects, including:

  • Artificial Intelligence and Robotics
  • Computer and Electrical Engineering
  • Bioscience and Bioengineering
  • Quantum Science and Technology
  • Humanities, Social Sciences, and Management
  • Mechanical and Materials Engineering

ROLE OF INTERNS

  • Conduct research under the guidance of faculty across departments.
  • Participate in experiments, simulations, and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with peers and contribute to project documentation.
  • Explore new tools, technologies, and interdisciplinary applications.
