GATE 2026 answer key released, objection window open till February 28

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has activated the facility for candidates to challenge the provisional answer key and response sheets for GATE 2026. The objection window opened on February 25 and will remain available until February 28 on the official websites,i.e., gate2026.iitg.ac.in and goaps.iitg.ac.in.

Candidates who appeared for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026, conducted between February 7 and February 15 across four days, can log in to the GOAPS portal to review their responses and submit objections, if any. However, candidates with provisional status are not permitted to raise challenges, though they can access and view their recorded responses online, as clarified in the official notice.

Along with the response sheets, IIT Guwahati has also uploaded the master question papers and the corresponding answer keys to the GOAPS portal. Since both questions and answer options were presented in a shuffled sequence during the exam, the displayed responses follow the exact order seen on the candidate’s exam screen.

Test-takers must carefully align the questions shown in their response sheet with those in the master question paper, as the published answer key applies exclusively to the master version.

The institute has also explained that the session number mentioned under the “View Response” section S1 or S2 refers to the forenoon and afternoon sessions conducted on a specific date. This session label should not be confused with the session code (S1 to S8) included in the candidate’s registration number.

This year, GATE 2026 was conducted for 30 different test papers.

The scorecards, to be issued later, will include sectional marks, total score, and the candidate’s All India Rank (AIR). It is important to note that only candidates who meet the prescribed qualifying cutoff will be issued official scorecards.
