The Kerala Story 2 trailer: Sequel promises same explosive plot in various states

The trailer for The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond has been released. A sequel to the 2022 release The Kerala Story, the film presents new personal tragedies that cross multiple Indian states. The trailer, shared on social media, highlights the film’s central themes as it gears up to hit theatres on February 27, 2026.

The makers described the film’s intent with a statement: “They targeted our daughters. They broke their trust. They stole their futures. This time, we do not stay silent. The story goes beyond. Is bar sahenge nahi… ladenge (sic).”

The trailer opens with a warning that in the next 25 years, India could be transformed into an Islamic state. The story then transitions to Rajasthan, where a Hindu family visits a police station, alleging their 16-year-old daughter has been coerced into religious conversion.

The focus then shifts to Madhya Pradesh, where a young Hindu woman is allegedly manipulated into marriage under false pretenses and finds herself forced into religious conversion.

Returning to Kerala, a Muslim man proposes a live-in relationship to his Hindu girlfriend. When she refuses to convert, the situation escalates, presenting a confrontation between faith and individual choice.

CAST, CHARACTERS, AND MORE

Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh and backed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and Sunshine Pictures, the film centers on three girls, played by Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia, and Aishwarya Ojha. Their relationships with three Muslim men form the focal point, with the trailer suggesting a calculated agenda of religious conversion.

CONNECTION TO THE FIRST FILM

The first film, The Kerala Story, addressed similar themes and sparked significant debate. The sequel aims to push these boundaries further, exploring what lies “beyond comfort, beyond silence, and beyond denial.”

PRODUCTION, SAFETY MEASURES, AND PRODUCER’S COMMENTS

Given that the film deals with a sensitive religious topic, rumours suggested it was shot amid strict security. In an exclusive chat, producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah recently denied these claims and clarified why the set was heavily protected.

He shared that security is always a top priority for the team. “Even when we shoot a commercial action film like Commando, there is always an ambulance and a doctor on set. So that is always the priority. In this film, particularly because it deals with a very sensitive topic, we have to provide extra security so at no point any crew member or artist is under any kind of threat,” he said.

The filmmaker also denied that the shoot faced any disruptions. He mentioned that while they did receive threats during the release of the first film, he expects things to be smooth this time.
