O’ Romeo box office Day 5: Shahid Kapoor’s film steady, nears Rs 50 crore

Vishal Bhardwaj’s O’ Romeo, starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri in the lead, has been performing steadily during the weekdays at the box office. The film wrapped up a decent first weekend, and continued the momentum on Monday and Tuesday. The romantic thriller collected in the range of Rs 3 crore nett on its fifth day, taking the total to near the benchmark of Rs 50 crore nett.

This is Shahid’s biggest run at the box office after Kabir Singh. The film is performing better than his last two releases — Deva and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, at least in the initial days.

O’ Romeo, a romantic thriller, based on Hussain Zaidi’s book titled Mafia Queens of Mumbai, has got two more days to perform smoothly at the ticket window. The film will face new releases, including Taapsee Pannu’s Assi and the romantic film Do Deewane Seher Mein, from Friday.

The Vishal Bhardwaj film enjoys a stellar starcast, including names like Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Vikrant Massey and Tammannaah Bhatia, among others. It will be interesting to see how far it goes after crossing the benchmark of Rs 50 crore.
