Mark Ruffalo raises alarm over possible nuclear attack on Iran, calls it insanity

Actor-filmmaker Mark Ruffalo expressed deep concern and raised alarm over reports of a possible use of nuclear weapons in Iran. He reacted to a post that cited the seriousness of the situation in the war between Iran, Israel and US.

In his X post, he mentioned that “psychopaths are waging this war,” while highlighting Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu’s war crimes in Gaza and US President Donald Trump’s support for them.

Ruffalo warned that millions of innocent civilians in Iran could be endangered if the conflict escalates further. He emphasised the importance of recognising these individuals as fellow human beings and urged citizens not to allow a nuclear strike to occur.

What did Mark Ruffalo say?

In his post on X, Ruffalo wrote, “This is something I have been worrying a lot about. We have psychopaths waging this war. We have seen Netanyahu gleefully carry out a genocide in Gaza, reducing it to a nuclear bomb site. Why would he not go further now in Iran?”

“There has been absolutely no consequences for his war crimes in Gaza. Trump has only assisted them. This has got to stop. As the citizens of the world we have to stop this. They cannot be allowed to carry out a nuclear strike on the millions of innocent people of Iran. These are our fellow human beings, regardless of their leaders. This is insanity,” he added.

Inside the post that triggered the warning

Ruffalo reacted to a post that warned the world about underestimating the risk of a nuclear strike on Iran. It stated that the United Nations is preparing for such a scenario and highlighted that Tehran is a densely populated city of nearly 10 million people, not an empty desert. The post stressed the human cost of any attack, pointing to families, children and ordinary citizens who would be affected.

The message urged global protests and immediate action to prevent a nuclear disaster, warning that history would judge those who remain silent.

Earlier, Ruffalo also responded on social media to the US and Israel’s military strikes on Iran, voicing his concerns over the escalating conflict.
