Actor Bobby Deol, who’s enjoying a strong second innings in his career after Animal and Aryan Khan’s The Ba**rds of Bollywood, has opened up about his sons Aryaman and Dharam Deol. In a recent chat, the actor spoke candidly about their education and career choices — and how both have chosen very different paths in life.

Speaking to Radio Nasha, Bobby said that while he always wanted his sons to focus on studies, their interests turned out to be quite different. “I wanted my sons to study, my younger son left studies after 12th standard, but my elder son was selected in all the colleges that he applied to. And he got into NYU Stern School of Business. I didn’t know about the college but when I used to tell people that my son studies in that college, people would tell me, ‘Wow, it’s a great college.’ I was like okay. I didn’t know that,” he shared with a laugh.

‘He’s Training Before Taking The Big Step’

Bobby also revealed that his elder son Aryaman, who has already caught the industry’s attention, is being approached for film offers but is not rushing into acting just yet. “He is working, he is training. There are a lot of offers coming in, but I don’t want to throw him into the middle of the ocean without knowing how to swim,” Bobby told Times Now. “I want him to first understand the art and then take his first step. So, he is working on himself.”

He added that both his sons have shown interest in films, but he wants them to be fully prepared for the pressure that comes with being star kids. Drawing a comparison, he also mentioned Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, who recently made his debut as a director. “I know how difficult it is, even being from the industry, to be superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son—the kind of pressure he has. If he is trying to do something as challenging as directing, then I have to be there for him,” Bobby said.

Bobby Deol Upcoming Films

After his acclaimed villainous turn in Animal, Bobby Deol’s career has picked up tremendous pace. He will next be seen in Anurag Kashyap’s Bandar, Alia Bhatt’s Alpha, and the Tamil film Jana Nayagan.

While his sons are finding their own footing, Bobby seems content balancing fatherhood with a flourishing career — proving that patience and persistence run in the Deol family.
