The Madhya Pradesh administration has suspended a school headmaster after a video showed students being served their government mid-day meals on torn pieces of notebook paper instead of plates.

Authorities moved swiftly following the video’s circulation. The school headmaster has been suspended with immediate effect. The cook responsible for serving the meal has also been removed from duty.

“The incident is from the government primary school of Kheda village in Manawar. The headmaster has been suspended with immediate effect. The cook has also been removed. A show-cause notice has been issued to the Block Education Officer,” said District Collector Priyank Mishra.

Collector Mishra added that the administration is taking steps to prevent such lapses in the future. The mid-day meal scheme is a central government flagship program designed to boost nutrition among school children.
