Chhattisgarh Factory Blast: 6 Dead, Over 10 Injured in Raigarh

A major explosion at a sponge iron factory in Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh district has claimed at least six lives and left over ten people injured, several in critical condition.

Key Details of the Incident

  • Time: Around 4 PM on Monday.
  • Cause: Preliminary reports indicate a blast in the factory boiler.

The tragedy struck at a factory situated about 15 kilometres from the Raigarh district headquarters. Rescue teams are currently at the site, conducting relief operations.

All injured have been rushed to a local hospital for treatment. A senior police official confirmed the recovery of six bodies from the site and stated that the condition of several injured is critical.

Chief Minister’s Response

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed deep sorrow over the incident and has directed officials to ensure the best possible medical care for the victims.

“The news of the death of many people due to a blast in a private factory in Siltara, Raigarh is extremely sad. My condolences are with the bereaved families. I pray to God to give them the strength to bear this immense sorrow. I wish for the speedy recovery of the injured. Officials have been instructed to ensure proper treatment of the injured,” Sai said in a post on X.

An investigation into the exact cause of the boiler explosion is expected as authorities focus on the immediate rescue and medical response.
