Waiting for the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara? Prices set to be revealed today

India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, is set to formally announce the price of its first all-electric SUV, the e-Vitara, today, marking a defining moment in the brand’s transition towards electric mobility.

First unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2025, the long wait for the electric SUV’s price announcement will finally come to an end today.

Prices are expected to fall in the Rs 18 lakh to Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom) bracket.
Modern design with strong proportions

Exterior design

The e-Vitara adopts a clean, contemporary design language with proportions that give it a solid road presence. Measuring 4,275mm in length, 1,800mm in width and 1,640mm in height, along with a 2,700mm wheelbase, it sits squarely in the compact SUV space while offering generous cabin room.

Interior design

Inside, the e-Vitara represents a noticeable step up in terms of perceived quality and technology, arguably the most premium cabin seen in a Maruti Suzuki to date. The dashboard features a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen housed within a twin-deck floating centre console.

Soft-touch materials, a dual-tone interior theme and multi-colour ambient lighting elevate the overall ambience. Feature highlights include ventilated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a flexible 40:20:40 split rear bench that reclines, slides and folds. A fixed-glass sunroof and a Harman-tuned audio system further enhance the SUV’s premium appeal.

Battery and motor

Underpinning the SUV is a lightweight 3-in-1 electric drive system that integrates the motor, inverter and transmission into a single compact unit. This approach not only improves packaging efficiency but also helps reduce overall weight, aiding performance and range.

Two battery options, over 500km range claimed

Maruti Suzuki will offer the e-Vitara with two battery pack options. The 49kWh version features a single front-mounted motor producing 144hp and 189Nm, aimed at buyers seeking a balanced urban and highway performer.

The larger 61kWh battery pack delivers 174bhp in its front-wheel-drive configuration. Internationally, an all-wheel-drive variant with an additional 65bhp rear motor pushes combined output to 184bhp and 300Nm. While it remains to be seen whether the AWD version will be introduced in India, top-spec variants are claimed to offer a driving range of over 543km, positioning the e-Vitara among the longest-range EVs in its segment.

Safety

Safety has been a key focus in the e-Vitara’s development. The body structure uses over 50% high-tensile steel and incorporates a dedicated battery protection system. Standard equipment includes seven airbags, all-disc brakes, an electronic parking brake, tyre pressure monitoring system and an e-Call emergency function.

The SUV also comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist and autonomous emergency braking, making it one of the most technologically advanced and safety-focused models in the company’s portfolio.
