Radhikaa Sarathkumar’s rural comedy drama, ‘Thaai Kizhavi’, hit the big screens last Friday, on February 27, 2026. Since its release, the movie has been performing decently at the box office. Following a strong opening weekend, the film tried to maintain its grip on Monday.

As per trade analyst Sacnilk, early estimates suggest that ‘Thaai Kizhavi’ collected over Rs 2.75 crore at the box office on Monday. This brings the total collection to Rs 16.55 crore as of now. Speaking of the film’s overall run till now, it earned Rs 2.65 crore on the opening day. Later, the weekends brought bigger numbers as the film made over Rs 5 crore on Saturday and Rs 6.15 crore on Sunday. The film’s positive reception among the audience and word of mouth have made it a suitable option among the masses. Additionally, with no other major release sharing the theatres, it has an added boost to its collection.
Theatrical occupancy of ‘Thaai Kizhavi’
It had an overall 24.43% Tamil occupancy on Monday. The morning shows began with 15.21%, which later increased to 24.26% in the afternoon. The evening shows then saw a further push to 27.76%, and later the attendance peaked at 30.49% during the night.

Directed by Sivakumar Murugesan, the film has received a good response from the viewers. Sharing their take on the film, netizens have called it a “wholesome” family entertainer. They have also praised the lead, Radhika Sarathkumar’s commanding performance. Additionally, the internet also hailed it for hilarious first-half comedy and emotional second half with life lessons on family and independence.
