75% resale in 5 years! VinFast introduces buyback guarantee on EVs

VinFast has launched a ‘Value Assured’ programme in India for its electric SUVs, including the VF6 and VF7, offering guaranteed resale benefits and structured buyback options. The initiative is aimed at addressing concerns around ownership costs and residual value. Under the scheme, the company is promising an assured resale value of up to 75 per cent, subject to tenure and terms, along with company-backed buyback plans spanning two to five years.

Customers upgrading to another VinFast vehicle can receive a 3 per cent loyalty benefit, and the programme includes a simplified vehicle evaluation process.

VinFast is also providing exchange support of up to ₹1. 30 lakh for buyers switching from petrol or diesel vehicles. The move comes as competition increases in India’s electric vehicle market, with brands seeking to strengthen customer confidence through ownership-focused offerings.

Talking about the cars itself, the VinFast VF6 is powered by a 59.6 kWh battery pack paired with a front-mounted electric motor.

Output stands at 177 hp and 250 Nm in the VF6 Earth variant, while the higher-spec Wind trim produces 204 hp and 310 Nm. According to the company, the Earth variant delivers an ARAI-certified range of 468 km, compared to 463 km for the Wind trim. The SUV is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 8. 9 seconds. Charging options include 3. 3 kW and 7. 2 kW AC chargers, along with DC fast charging, which can replenish the battery from 10 to 70 per cent in 25 minutes.

Features include a large 12.9-inch freestanding infotainment touchscreen, a panoramic glass roof, an eight-way powered driver’s seat, a cabin air filter, an eight-speaker audio system, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, vegan leather upholstery and connected car features and more.

The VinFast VF7 Earth variant is equipped with a 59.6 kWh battery pack driving the front wheels, producing 177 hp and 250 Nm.

It offers a claimed range of 438 km and supports DC fast charging from 10 to 70 per cent in 24 minutes. The Wind and Wind Infinity variants use a larger 70. 8 kWh battery with front-wheel drive, delivering 204 hp and 310 Nm. These versions are claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 9. 5 seconds, provide a range of 532 km, and require 28 minutes for a 10 to 70 per cent DC charge.

The Sky and Sky Infinity trims feature the same 70.8 kWh battery but adopt an all-wheel-drive setup, producing 353 hp and 500 Nm. They are rated to complete the 0 to 100 kph sprint in 5.8 seconds, support a 28-minute 10 to 70 per cent charge time, and offer an ARAI-certified range of 510 km.
