Bought the Kia Seltos? You are now one of 6 lakh owners in India

Kia India has announced that the Seltos has crossed the 6 lakh cumulative sales milestone in India since its debut in 2019, underlining the SUV’s sustained acceptance and its role as a cornerstone of the brand’s portfolio in the country.

The achievement reflects consistent demand across variants and geographies, with the company highlighting that nearly 29 per cent of total sales have come from top trims. This trend signals a clear shift among buyers towards premium features, advanced safety systems and enhanced in-cabin technology, even within the highly competitive mid-SUV segment.

Over time, Kia strengthened the Seltos with the addition of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), enhanced connectivity features and an expanded safety suite. The broad variant mix has ensured that the Seltos appeals equally to value-focused buyers as well as customers upgrading from hatchbacks, sedans and compact SUVs in search of a more premium ownership experience.

Commenting on the milestone, Sunhack Park, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said that crossing 6 lakh sales reflects sustained customer preference for a product that delivers on design, safety, technology and performance. He added that the strong uptake of higher trims indicates growing confidence in advanced safety systems and connected technologies among Indian buyers.

New Kia Seltos

Building on this legacy, the new-generation Seltos aims to further elevate Kia’s position in the mid-SUV space. With a segment-leading length of 4,460mm, width of 1,830mm and a longer 2,690mm wheelbase, the SUV promises improved road presence and enhanced interior space.

Based on the brand’s K3 platform, the model adopts a more assertive exterior design language, highlighted by the evolved Digital Tiger Face, Ice Cube LED headlamps and connected LED tail lamps.

Inside, the cabin sees a comprehensive overhaul. A standout feature is the Trinity Panoramic Display Panel, which integrates dual 12.3-inch screens into a seamless digital interface. Premium touches include ventilated front seats, a 10-way powered driver’s seat with memory function, dual-zone climate control with a dedicated touchscreen interface, 64-colour ambient lighting and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. Practicality remains a strong suit, with a 447-litre boot and flexible 60:40 split rear seating.

Multiple powertrains, enhanced safety

Kia continues to offer three engine options: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel, paired with a range of transmission choices including manual, CVT, iMT, 7DCT and 6AT options depending on the variant. All versions are front-wheel drive and feature all-wheel disc brakes.

On the safety front, the SUV comes standard with six airbags, ABS, ESC, hill-start assist, ISOFIX mounts and tyre pressure monitoring. Higher variants feature a comprehensive Level 2 ADAS suite with 21 functions, including multiple collision avoidance assists, lane-keeping technologies, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts and Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go on automatic versions.
