ISRO’s Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre announces internship opportunity for Science and Engineering UG and PG students

The Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in Thiruvananthapuram has opened applications for its internship programme for eligible undergraduate and postgraduate students in Science and Engineering. The programme is administered by the Human Resource Development Division of the centre.

Applicants interested in applying for the opportunity must submit their applications through the official website by March 15, 2026. The internship is available for candidates who have obtained more than 60 percent marks in their last exam or a CGPA of 6.32 on a scale of 10.

Eligibility criteria and academic requirements

The applicants should be Indian citizens, and they should have or be pursuing courses in Science or Technology streams related to the programs offered by the Department of Space and ISRO.

Students from recognized universities or institutions in India or abroad are eligible, and they should be pursuing regular on-campus courses or should have completed them within six months prior to the opening of the application process.

For BE, B.Tech, BSc in Physics or Chemistry, Integrated MSc, BS-MS in Physics or Chemistry, and Integrated MTech courses, the candidates should have completed the fourth semester at the time of application, and their marks up to the previous semester will be considered.

For ME, MTech, and MSc courses, the applicants should have completed the first semester, and their marks in the qualifying degree will be considered. PhD scholars should have completed their coursework, and their selection will be based on the marks of the qualifying degree.

The internship program encompasses a broad spectrum of courses such as Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Material Engineering, Polymer Science and Engineering, Production Engineering, Engineering Physics, and other disciplines offered under BE and B.Tech degrees.

It also encompasses BS-MS in Chemistry and Physics, BSc in Chemistry and Physics, Integrated MSc in Chemistry and Physics, Integrated MTech, ME, MTech, MSc in Atmospheric Sciences, Meteorology, Oceanography, Space Physics, Space Science and Technology, Computer Science in Data Analytics and Data Science, and PhD programs, provided the coursework is completed.

The internship period will vary from a minimum of 21 days to a maximum of 45 days. The students will be allowed to perform their internship only in unclassified areas of the centre. There will be no stipend, remuneration, or financial assistance provided to the students during the internship period.

The number of students to be selected may differ based on the availability of facilities, and the centre has the discretion to accept or reject applications. The selected candidates will receive an email notification.
