NCERT launches e-Magic Box app with AI bots to make early learning fun for kids aged 3–8; here’s everything you need to know

If you are a parent of a toddler or a primary school teacher, you have probably asked yourself at least once — “Am I doing enough to support this child’s learning?” Well, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, seems to have heard you loud and clear. The council has launched a brand-new digital tool called the e-Magic Box app, and honestly, it sounds like something every parent and teacher needs on their phone right now.

The app is targeted at kids aged 3 to 8 years, which is that crucial phase of childhood when curiosity is at its peak and the right kind of stimulation can work wonders. And what makes e-Magic Box so special is not just the content it has to offer, but the three intelligent bots waiting inside to answer your queries at any time of the day.

The app is chock-full of three intelligent bots powered by Artificial Intelligence, each with a special purpose to serve. Katha Sakhi is your trusted friend when it comes to stories and creative content that keeps young minds occupied. Next, there is Parent Tara, which is specifically designed to help parents navigate through the numerous questions and doubts that come with having a young one at home.

Finally, there is Teacher Tara, who is there to help teachers make their interactions with kids in the classroom more meaningful and effective. Simply type in your question, and you get an instant answer.

Simultaneously, with the launch of the app, NCERT has also started an interesting campaign called the ‘Kingdom of Learning and Learning’ campaign, encouraging parents and teachers to actively participate in these bots and discover the treasure trove of content available.

The most appreciable aspect of this campaign is that NCERT has not restricted it to just an app. Here’s how you can access it on different platforms:

Download the user-friendly app to instantly access a vast array of learning content, available for both parents and teachers. The AI bots are directly accessible on WhatsApp and Telegram, making it extremely convenient for those who do not wish to download an additional app. This is perhaps the most inclusive aspect of this campaign. All you need to do is dial the toll-free number 1800-212-0173 or 15108 to access the “Story of the Day,” “Song of the Day,” and “Question of the Day,” all available in your language. This ensures that even if your family does not own a smartphone, you can still avail yourself of this campaign.

India has millions of children in the age group of 3-8 years, who are at a foundational stage of learning. A tool such as

e-Magic Box, which has the credibility of NCERT and is available on multiple platforms, has the potential to actually bridge the gap between home and school learning. If you haven’t checked it out yet, this might just be the right time to give it a try!
