The Delhi Police has arrested Javad Siddiqui, chairman of Al Falah University, on charges of alleged cheating and fraud. The action follows a formal complaint filed by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Investigation and Arrest

Based on the UGC’s complaint, a case was registered at the Saket police station in South Delhi. A senior police officer stated that during the investigation, evidence pointed to the university’s alleged involvement in fraudulent activities.

Acting on the collected evidence, Siddiqui was arrested from his residence in Jamia Nagar on Friday. He was subsequently produced before a court, which remanded him to judicial custody.

The police have confirmed that further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
