MS Dhoni Backs Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli for 2027 World Cup

Dhoni’s Vote of Confidence

In a recent interview, the 2011 World Cup-winning captain stated that both players are physically fit and understand their bodies well enough to manage workloads for several more years.

“I think both of them (Rohit and Kohli) are fit and can play for a few more years. Age is not a factor. They are both very experienced and have been playing for a long time. They know their bodies well and can manage their workload accordingly,” Dhoni said.

Fresh from T20 World Cup Triumph

The backing comes after Rohit and Kohli were instrumental in India’s victory last month, ending an 11-year ICC trophy drought. Both announced their retirement from T20 Internationals following the win.

Experience for the 2027 Campaign

“They have a lot of experience and can guide the younger players. They are both very motivated and want to win more trophies for India. I think they can definitely play till the 2027 World Cup,” he added.
