Three Indian Nationals Held in Canada for Extortion-Linked Shooting

Three Indian nationals have been arrested in Surrey, Canada, for a targeted shooting linked to an extortion case. The victim survived with non-life-threatening injuries.

What Happened?

The shooting occurred on April 30 in the 14900-block of 66A Avenue in Surrey, British Columbia. The victim was rushed to the hospital and is expected to recover.

Surrey RCMP have confirmed the attack was targeted and connected to extortion.

“This was a targeted incident, and we believe it was related to extortion,” said Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer, Sgt. Tammy Lobb.

“We want to reassure the public that there is no ongoing risk to public safety as a result of this incident.”

The police investigation is ongoing, but authorities have stated there is no broader threat to the community.
