The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has released photographs of two female suicide fighters, identified as Bramsh and Balila, among the 11 assailants who launched a major assault on Pakistani security forces in Mach district. The attack, which began on Monday night and lasted for hours, resulted in significant casualties, with official and rebel claims sharply diverging.
Casualty Claims and Conflicting Reports
Pakistani authorities reported at least 15 fatalities, including four security personnel. In contrast, the BLA claimed its fighters killed over 50 Pakistani soldiers during the prolonged engagement.
Targets and Outcome
The BLA’s Majeed Brigade, a designated suicide squad, said its fighters targeted the Frontier Corps headquarters, a local police station, and other installations. Pakistani forces stated they repelled the assault, killing all 11 attackers. The BLA, however, declared that all its members “successfully completed their mission and embraced martyrdom.”
