Ireland’s €10,000 Scholarships Open Jan 29 for 2026 Intake

Ireland Opens €10,000 Scholarship Applications for 2026

The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships (GOI-IES) for 2026 will begin accepting applications from January 29, 2026. This prestigious programme offers 60 fully-funded awards to top international students from outside the EU/EEA for one year of study in Ireland.

Key Scholarship Details

  • Value: €10,000 stipend plus full tuition and registration fees.
  • Level: Master’s or PhD programmes.
  • Deadline: March 20, 2026 (5 PM Irish time).
  • Eligibility: Non-EU/EEA/UK/Swiss students with an admission offer for autumn 2026.

Eligibility and Application

The scholarship is open to students across all academic fields. To apply, candidates must hold citizenship outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland, or the UK. Crucially, they must have already secured an offer—or conditional offer—of admission to an eligible Irish university for a master’s or doctoral programme commencing in autumn 2026.

Selection Process

The Higher Education Authority (HEA) will manage the competitive selection. Applicants will be assessed on:

  • Academic excellence and merit.
  • A compelling rationale for choosing Ireland as a study destination.
  • The potential to contribute to their academic field and society.

This initiative is a key part of Ireland’s strategy to attract global talent and enhance the international profile of its higher education sector.
