White House on Fatal ICE Shooting: Trump Doesn’t Want Anyone Hurt

White House Says Trump Doesn’t Want ‘Anyone Hurt or Killed’ After Fatal ICE Shooting

The White House has stated President Donald Trump does not want anyone harmed following a fatal shooting involving a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minnesota. A man was killed after reportedly stabbing an agent during an arrest attempt.

Key Details of the Incident

  • The shooting occurred in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Monday.
  • ICE agents were attempting to arrest a man when he stabbed one agent.
  • Another agent shot the suspect, who later died in hospital.
  • The stabbed agent sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

White House Response

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany addressed the incident at a daily news conference. “The President doesn’t want anyone to be hurt or killed. He wants people to be safe. He wants people to be protected. He wants people to be treated fairly. He wants people to be treated humanely,” she said.

McEnany framed the President’s stance around a broader theme of protection. “He wants to protect the American people. He wants to protect the American worker. He wants to protect the American family. He wants to protect the American dream. That’s what he’s doing,” she stated in response to a question about the Minnesota shooting.

The remarks offer the administration’s perspective on an incident that involved federal immigration enforcement officers.
