PM Kisan 21st Installment Date: Eligibility and Payment Details

What is the PM Kisan Scheme?

Launched in 2019 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after being announced in the Interim Budget by then Finance Minister Piyush Goyal, PM Kisan has become the world’s largest Direct Benefit Transfer scheme. Eligible farmers receive Rs 2,000 every four months, totaling Rs 6,000 annually, in three installments covering April-July, August-November, and December-March periods.

Eligibility Criteria for PM Kisan

To qualify for the 21st installment, applicants must:

  • Be Indian citizens owning cultivable land
  • Be small or marginal farmers
  • Not receive pension of Rs 10,000 or more monthly
  • Not have filed income tax returns
  • Not be institutional landholders

Who is Not Eligible?

The following categories are excluded from PM Kisan benefits:

Institutional Entities

  • Companies, trusts, societies, and government institutes owning land

High-Profile Individuals and Officials

  • Current or former constitutional post holders
  • Serving or former Union/State Ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs
  • Present or former Mayors and District Panchayat Chairpersons

Government Employees

  • Serving or retired officers/employees of Central/State governments, PSUs, autonomous bodies, government field units, and local bodies
  • Exception: Multi-tasking staff, Class-IV, and Group-D employees remain eligible

Pensioners and Professionals

  • Pensioners receiving Rs 10,000 or more monthly (except Group D/Class IV/MTS pensioners)
  • Income tax payees and their spouses from the last assessment year
  • Practicing professionals including doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants, and architects

The eligibility cutoff date for land records remains February 1, 2019. Farmers should ensure their documents and e-KYC are updated to receive benefits smoothly.
