While the internet is filled with reports suggesting how the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Fold will look, there is far less information about the other models, including the iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2. A new leak has shed some light on what users can expect from these devices. A Weibo leaker who goes by the name Fixed Focus Digital suggests that the standard model of the iPhone 18 will not see any major changes to its exterior design, apart from minor tweaks to its dimensions.
The claim contradicts an earlier report from Ice Universe, which suggested that all iPhone 18 models would feature a smaller Dynamic Island. However, it aligns with other reports indicating that Apple may reduce the Dynamic Island size only on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Some reports also suggest that the standard iPhone 18 could retain the same 6.3-inch display that is expected to appear in the iPhone 17. It is common for Apple to introduce minor dimension changes with each new iPhone generation.
Updates on iPhone Air 2
In addition to the iPhone 18, the leaker has also shared an update on the iPhone Air 2. According to the claim, the next iteration of Apple’s slimmest iPhone, the iPhone Air 2, will arrive this year.
However, other reports suggest that Apple could push the launch of the iPhone Air 2 to 2027 and use the extra time to add a second rear camera to the device. While Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman agrees with the 2027 timeline, he is reportedly skeptical that a second camera would be added.
Despite these reports, Fixed Focus Digital believes that Apple will launch the iPhone Air 2 alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Fold without any major changes to its camera or design. The leaker has previously repeated this launch timeline on two occasions.
If the leak proves accurate, Apple could launch four models this year, and the iPhone Air 2 may arrive at a higher price point since the company may not launch the standard iPhone 18 this year.
iPhone Fold manufacturing update
According to reports from leakers Majin Bu and Instant Digital, the iPhone Fold has now entered the manufacturing phase at Foxconn.
While the device is expected to launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max this year, a recent report from Nikkei Asia suggests that Apple is facing more complex engineering challenges than initially anticipated. In a worst-case scenario, these issues could delay both mass production and shipments by several months.
