OnePlus Nord 6 launch: Design, specs, expected India price and everything else to know

Amid speculation of a shutdown, OnePlus is launching a new smartphone in India tomorrow, April 6. The upcoming OnePlus Nord 6 will arrive in the country as the successor to the OnePlus Nord 5, which was launched in July last year. The Nord 6 will feature a redesigned rear camera module and will resemble the latest OnePlus 15 in terms of design. The device will also arrive with an upgraded chipset.

While the rear camera specifications are expected to remain the same as its predecessor, the front camera may see a downgrade compared to what was offered in the previous model.

OnePlus Nord 6 India price and availability

According to tipster Debayan Roy, the OnePlus Nord 6 could be priced above Rs 35,000 in India, marking a clear increase over previous Nord models. The leak also aligns with the recent trend of companies launching new smartphones at higher prices than their predecessors due to the global increase in RAM prices. For comparison, the OnePlus Nord 5 debuted at Rs 31,999, while the OnePlus Nord 4 and OnePlus Nord 3 were launched at Rs 29,999 and Rs 33,999, respectively.

The OnePlus Nord 6 will be available starting April 9 on OnePlus’s website, Amazon, OnePlus Experience stores, and select retail outlets.

OnePlus Nord 6 specifications

The company has confirmed that the OnePlus Nord 6 will arrive with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage. In comparison, its predecessor, the OnePlus Nord 5, arrived with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Mobile Platform, with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.

For photography, the device will feature the same 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA primary sensor with OIS, paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, which was also present in the OnePlus Nord 5. However, the Nord 6’s front camera may disappoint some, as it is expected to feature a 32-megapixel punch-hole selfie camera instead of the 50-megapixel front camera that was available on its predecessor.

The display will see a major upgrade compared to the previous model. The OnePlus Nord 6 will feature a display with up to a 165Hz refresh rate and brightness that peaks at 1,800 nits, while also dropping to 2 nits for midnight scrolling. In comparison, the OnePlus Nord 5 arrived with a display offering a 144Hz refresh rate and brightness ranging between 800 nits and 1,800 nits.

The OnePlus Nord 6 is also confirmed to pack a 9,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging. In comparison, the OnePlus Nord 5 came with a 6,800mAh battery, 80W wired charging, and 5W reverse charging.
