Oppo has announced the launch date of its next flagship smartphone — the Oppo Find X9 Ultra — which is scheduled to debut on April 21. The device is expected to arrive alongside the Oppo Find X9s, which is confirmed to feature dual 200-megapixel cameras, making it the second such phone after the recent launch of the Vivo X300 Ultra. Both upcoming smartphones will come with Hasselblad-backed camera systems and are expected to join the Oppo Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, which were launched last year.
Oppo’s Chief Product Officer, Pete Lau, took to X (formerly Twitter) to tease the Find X9 Ultra, confirming that the smartphone will see a global release. This would be the brand’s first X-lineup Ultra to be unveiled globally.
The OPPO Find X9 Ultra’s camera is a major talking point; it is expected to have a quad-camera setup. Rumours suggest that the smartphone will have a 200-megapixel main camera, a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto, a 50-megapixel telephoto capable of 10x optical zoom and a 50-megapixel ultrawide sensor.
While the company hasn’t revealed any specifications about the device, leaks suggest the smartphone is expected to feature a 6.82-inch 2K LTPO OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, and a battery above 7,000mAh.
Talking about the Find X9s, Oppo has confirmed that it will carry dual 200-megapixel cameras for the primary and telephoto. It is said to be a compact device, so it may come with a 6.32-inch OLED display along with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset to power the device. It is said to carry a close to 7,000 mAh battery to fuel the device.
Oppo is also set to host a launch event in China on April 1, where it will introduce its latest K15 Pro series. The lineup is expected to include two models — the Oppo K15 Pro and the Oppo K15 Pro Plus.
In addition to the smartphones, the company is also anticipated to showcase a range of new products at the same event, including the Oppo Watch X3 Mini and the Oppo Enco Clip 2.
Oppo has also revealed that the Enco Clip 2 will be tuned in partnership with the Danish audio brand Dynaudio, suggesting a focus on delivering an improved audio experience.
