Vivo T5 Pro may debut soon in India, key specs leaked

Vivo may soon launch its next T-series smartphone, the Vivo T5 Pro. It will succeed the Vivo T4 Pro, which debuted last year. The upcoming model is expected to bring notable upgrades over its predecessor, particularly in battery capacity and display quality.
Tipster Yogesh Brar, who goes by the handle @heyitsyogesh on X, suggests that the Vivo T5 Pro could debut soon in the Indian market, while also revealing some of its key specifications. These leaks indicate that the company may be gearing up to expand its mid-range T-series lineup.

The Vivo T5 Pro expected specs and features

The Vivo T5 Pro is expected to feature a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. This marks an improvement over the Vivo T4 Pro’s full-HD+ AMOLED panel and 120Hz refresh rate.

One of the most notable upgrades is the battery. The Vivo T5 Pro is tipped to include a 9,020mAh battery, a considerable increase from the T4 Pro’s 6,500mAh capacity. It will also support 90W fast charging, maintaining the same charging speed despite the larger battery size.

The shift towards larger batteries appears to be an emerging trend among smartphone makers. Brands like Poco, Honor, and Realme have already introduced devices with battery capacities exceeding 9,000mAh. For instance, the Realme P4 Power 5G was recently launched with a 10,010mAh battery, while the Honor Power 2 debuted earlier with a 10,080mAh capacity. If the rumours hold true, Vivo may also be looking to join this trend.

On the software front, the phone is expected to run OriginOS 6 out of the box, Vivo’s latest custom interface based on a recent version of Android. This update aims to provide smoother animations, improved system stability, and better optimisation, particularly in managing the large battery.

While Vivo has not officially confirmed the launch date and the price details, rumours suggest the Vivo T5 Pro will be positioned in the mid-range segment. The base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is expected to be priced around Rs 29,999.

For comparison, the Vivo T4 Pro, launched in India in August last year at Rs 27,999, featured a 6.77-inch display. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. For photography, it has a triple rear camera setup including a 50MP main sensor. In terms of battery, it is packed with a 6,500mAh battery with 90W charging.
