Weather conditions across India are set to remain largely stable over the next 24 hours, with most parts of North India expected to witness clear and dry conditions, according to the latest forecast.
The plains and hilly regions of North India will experience predominantly dry weather, although patches of cloud cover may appear in several states. Rajasthan is likely to see more persistent cloudiness, while parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand may also witness scattered clouds.
Similar conditions are expected over Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and West Bengal. However, rainfall activity is not anticipated in these regions.
“Cold northerly winds continue to influence weather patterns across much of northern and central India. These winds are expected to extend their impact as far south as parts of central Maharashtra, including Nashik, Pune, and nearby regions,” Devendra Tripathi, founder of Mausam Tak, told IndiaToday.in.
Northern Maharashtra and several parts of Madhya Pradesh, especially the northwestern areas, will also remain under their influence. States such as Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Delhi will continue to feel the effect of these cooler winds.
As a result, minimum temperatures are likely to remain under control, bringing relatively pleasant conditions during early mornings and nights. However, with largely clear skies during the day, temperatures are expected to rise, leading to slightly warmer afternoons across many regions.
In contrast, the northeastern states are set to witness active weather conditions. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and Nagaland are likely to receive heavy rainfall at multiple locations, which could impact local travel and daily life.
Meanwhile, parts of the northern Himalayan region, including Uttarakhand and Ladakh, may experience light snowfall or rainfall, though no major weather disturbances are expected.
“Southern peninsular India is forecast to remain mostly dry on March 24. States such as Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana are expected to see stable weather conditions with only isolated cloud cover,” Devendra Tripathi added.
However, coastal areas of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh may experience brief spells of light rain or drizzle.
Overall, India’s weather pattern reflects a mix of stable conditions in the north and south, alongside active rainfall in the northeast, highlighting the seasonal transition underway across the country.
