Rain activity to decline over North India on Saturday, foggy morning expected

Weather conditions across North India are set to stabilise, with a noticeable decline in rainfall activity over the coming days, according to the latest forecast inputs.

Rain lashed parts of North India including Punjab, Delhi, and Haryana on Friday, with temperatures hovering below normal limits.

The regions are likely to witness a reduction in precipitation, bringing a temporary pause to recent wet conditions.

However, parts of the northern hills, including Himachal Pradesh, may still see some localised weather activity, though overall intensity is expected to remain low. “In the plains, dense to moderate fog is likely to persist, especially across Punjab and adjoining areas, potentially affecting visibility during early morning and late night hours,” Devendra Tripathi, founder of Mausam Tak, told IndiaToday.in.

Temperatures are expected to show a mixed trend across the country. Minimum temperatures may remain on the lower side in several cities including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Raipur, Ranchi, Patna, Prayagraj, Gwalior, Jaipur, and Delhi, bringing a slight chill to early mornings and nights.

During the day, northwestern plains may witness increasing cloud cover as a new weather system begins to influence the region. This could lead to gradual changes in conditions, particularly over parts of Uttar Pradesh, including central districts such as Lucknow and surrounding areas.

Bihar and Jharkhand are also likely to experience similar cloudy conditions.

Further east, northeastern India may continue to see variable weather, while central parts of the country, including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha, could experience partly cloudy skies with isolated developments.

Western regions such as Gujarat and Rajasthan are also expected to see changing weather patterns, with cloud formation increasing gradually.

Maharashtra, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh may witness similar transitions, indicating a broader shift in atmospheric conditions across central and western India.

Overall, while rainfall activity is decreasing over North India, the presence of fog, fluctuating temperatures, and increasing cloud cover suggests that weather conditions will remain dynamic. Authorities have advised residents, particularly in fog-prone areas, to exercise caution during travel due to reduced visibility.

Meteorologists will continue to monitor the evolving systems, especially over the plains and central regions, where further changes may unfold in the coming days.
